it was limiting too much, ie it wasn't able to pass-thru the unmangled output from the filter(s). this goes for ltslp and lts, in my experience. he also kinda lied to me; he told me that particular settings would make ltslp not limit at all...but it did limit. it's always limiting the efficiency of denoiser, so i don't get good denoising. (perhaps "lied" is too strong of a word, but i don't know how to call something that is not the truth, ie i haven't found it to be the truth.) he was also contradictory; in one post he says this is a function for a moderate noise, and few posts later he says the limiting can be totally disabled, which means it should be removing any type of noise that filters its using can remove. prior to that he said this was for fine noise (""reasonable sharp", i.e. has a rather high spatial frequency. In that case, it works pretty good. If however the noise is of low spatial frequency (floating pixel clusters), or the grain size is too big, it works not so good. "), but this still doesn't add up; how can he have the "sharp" noise on his dvb sources? those are some of my gripes with his ways; i would just admit it; "ok, it doesn't work for you( {and perhaps} let see if i can mod it for more noise)". but no, didee will first suggest a function to me, then he'll say to me i must tweak the parameters, after i tried plenty of paramteres he'll say...ehm...this function is not really for you, you must use proper tool for a job. in the end i feel didee is wasting my time for no good reason.
